When I was a little girl, I used to shop at a local thrift store with my mom. She was always looking for a treasure! I did not enjoy these excursions, but I didn't want my mom to know that. So, I would try to act interested. As I got older, my attitude changed and before too long, I was hooked! We went to yard sales, estate sales, antique stores, and even found some goodies on the side of the road! Around this time, I started to notice the trend of painted furniture. I loved the idea of reclaiming these one of a kind pieces. We started experimenting. My mom and my sisters decided that we might try a weekend boutique. Forget Me Not Boutique was born and was a huge success. The only downside was that we turned my mom's cute house upside down! I thought to myself, it would be really fun to own a shop! My dad had just built a new bowling center with some retail spaces connected to it. One space had not been rented, and I presented a “plan” to my family. Could I try a Forget Me Not Boutique there? We were very successful, but it became difficult to commute from Riverton to Lehi. I decided that I would move my store to West Jordan. Sadly, I didn't have the success that I had in Lehi. As a result, I have been online ever since. I have recently moved back to Lehi and love being home. I hope to be able to open another physical location in the future, but for now, enjoy my blog!
